The Halloween group exhibition conjures up the spooky and macabre in the historic French quarter

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s that time of year when we start seeing a lot of representation of the macabre and dark arts. It’s something that we anticipate, but, for whatever reason, it feels like, this year, I simply haven’t come across as much of this work as I’d like. That’s why we’re so pleased to see Mortal Machine Gallery stepping things up and bringing forth their Halloween exhibition this weekend. Located in a region known for its history of voodoo, spirituality, magic, and ritual, the New Orleans gallery has assembled a stacked lineup for the Abracadabra group show. Among the listed contributors are such favorites as Lamour Supreme, Chad Keith, and Wiley Wallace.

The following statement comes comes from Mortal Machine Gallery:

“Brace yourselves darlings, as we conjure up a bewitching group show that’ll send ghoulish shivers down your spine. Get your broomsticks ready, because our Halloween Group Show “Abracadabra” is about to cast its spell on the French Quarter.”

For those in the area who are hoping to attend, the opening reception is tomorrow Friday, October 27th. In addition to the “Abracadabra” group show they will also be hosting a bonus weekend pop up show with artist, Matt Darling AKA Midnite Tremors.
