Listen To The New WIKI Track “EGGS” Produced By Madlib

Check out the NYC rapper’s latest is a series of standalone tracks since the end of last year. With more promised by the end of 2019, a new full-length might be on the horizon.

Earlier this year, WIKI, released a track by the name of “Cheat Code.”  Somewhat out of the blue and with no indication that it was related to any larger project, it still arrived with the promise of more new music being on the horizon for the New York emcee, later this year.  That was way back in February and we have still yet to see a follow up… until now.  His latest tune, “Eggs” is worth the wait, operating as yet another example of the Ratking founder’s lyrical prowess and versatility, while he rides a laid-back and soulful Madlib beat.  I believe this may be the first time that he’s spit on a Madlib production since “WikiFlag,” the opening track from his 2015 mixtape, Lil Me.  It’s also the first song to be released on the rapper’s own label, Wikset Enterprizes.

EGGS” now marks the 4th in a series of standalone tracks to arrive, after 2018 ended with the one-offs “Elixir” (ft. Obongjayar & JJ) and “In the Park” (ft. Gloss Gang).  Considering that his last album, No Mountains In Manhattan began in a similar fashion of random song releases slowly rolling out with no future project announcement, “Cheat Code” seemed to point to a similar result.  With nothing following over the last 6 months, however, a new full-length definitely wasn’t carved in stone.  And while there still isn’t any guarantee, things do seem to be back on track.  The press release even claims that “EGGS” “is the first of a number of new releases to come from Wiki before the close of 2019.”  I mean, even song itself, repeatedly, promises that “Wiki got it coming this year!

Time will tell, but for now, you can check out “EGGS” below.
