Kneeling In Piss Shares “USA Will Start Another War” From Upcoming Debut
Hailing from Columbus, Ohio the 5-piece offers up the lead off single to their new album, Tour de Force, alongside a full list of tour dates
We get a TON of emails and press releases every day and the harsh reality is that we really can’t even check most of it out. What kind of staff do you think I have for a site like this? You have to catch my attention, son! And this is the burden of the publicists, blasting out emails with the hope that they can convince enough writers and media to utilize their individual platforms to promote some act that nobody has ever heard of before. Meanwhile, news about more established artists is rolling in and overshadowing anyone who is still trying to get their footing. It’s somewhat of a catch 22, the idea that it can be difficult to get promotion without already having the name recognition that you’re trying to build. But, I’m gonna let you in on a little bit of an inside scoop, for anyone that’s behind one of these struggling projects working to cut through the mess, stand out from the herd, and get some eyes on you. If you name your band Kneeling In Piss, the very least that I’m going to do is open that email. The second part to this bit of advice takes just slightly more effort: you still can’t be completely terrible.
Led by author/poet, Alex Mussawir, Kneeling In Piss hails from Columbus, Ohio and, the fact that the first single off their forthcoming debut, Tour de Force, is titled “USA Will Start Another War” just means that they’ve found another key to my heart. If this first sample is any indication, they seem to be a post punk outfit somewhat in the vein of a Parquet Courts. According to their press release, “their sound is a ragged sort, with their songs quickly recorded and nearly breaking in half in the rush to get it down and move on.” I guess time will tell.
