Listen to New Death Grips – “Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix)”

Less than a week after Zach Hill (vocals, keyboards, guitar, drums, producer) and Andy Morin (guitar, bass, and engineer) dropped the digital release for Bodyguard, the brand new album from their side project, The i.L.y.s, it looks as if another upcoming LP from Death Grips, their main project alongside vocalist Stefan Burnett, is already in production.  About 15-minutes ago, the group posted the following message via their social media accounts, just as casually as they’ve done anything else since their inception.

“we’re working on the new death grips album.
but in the meantime, here’s a new track/mix. it’s 22 minutes”

So… there you have it.  There’s really no time or point to keep typing anything more about this; you’ve got a full 22 1/2 minutes worth of chaos to listen to and, by the time you’re done, who knows what else they may have released.

To find out more about the new I.L.Ys effort, which will have a physical release via Thee Oh Sees frontman, John Dwyer‘s Castle Face Records on June 16th (2pac’s birthday), you can check out our post about it HERE.  As for Death Grips… I’m sure you’ll find plenty of suggested articles below.  We’ve written quite a bit about the experimental Sacramento noise-rap trio over the years.  But, for now….

Unfortunately, being a muscle relaxer-fueled fever dream, it's hard to recall all of the details. "I remember that my mom was there, but it wasn't actually her in the dream, it was actually 70s heart throb, Jan Michael Vincent. And everything took place here, in this room... but it wasn't actually here... it was different. The colors were washed out and, for some reason, there was a raccoon kicking it with us and it was wearing a holographic monocle."
