Although it may sound way too cliche for someone to claim The Big Lebowski as their favorite film, it’s definitely still one of mine.  I’ve been a Coen Bros fan since long before it’s release and I remember seeing it in a mostly empty theater when it first came out, but even though it took it’s time to catch on with the masses, once it did, the brilliance was undeniable.  Its script has become highly regarded across the board, from the most socially inept film nerds to the douchiest jocks.  Everybody loves it (my girlfriend’s getting there).  And yet, it still hasn’t been ruined by it’s popularity.  Sure, I’d never want to try and watch it with a bunch of drunk strangers misquoting over the whole thing ever again, but it’s held up incredibly over the last 16 years and that’s something that I expect it to continue doing.

Today a 3-and-a-half–minute animated video reenacting a condensed version of the classic Jeff Bridges vehicle has hit Youtube and it’s being presented with an 8-bit video game aesthetic.  As the video description explains, for those who may not be as familiar with the term “8 Bit a.k.a. the third generation of gaming started in 1983 with the Japanese release of the Nintendo Family Computer and Sega.
