CONTINUED STORY: Unreleased Daniel Johnston Converse All-Stars (part 2)

In June of last year, I posted an article about the story behind the unreleased Daniel Johnston model Converse All-Stars.  For those of you who haven’t read it, I will try to fill you in on the important details.  The first thing for you to be aware of is that you should probably just go read that original article.  Seriously, it’s been a pretty popular one for us and the people seem to enjoy it.  Plus, it’s not very long and there are a ton of pictures!

The Black Lips issue Basketball challenge to OJ Da Juiceman and Jim Jones

The Black Lips have been scheduled as contenders in Converse‘s BAND OF BALLERS basketball tournament being held on May 1st in their hometown of Atlanta, Ga.  This is the second time that the event has been held, with the squad of rapper Jim Jones taking the championship crown the last time around.  This year, The Black Lips have not only issued a challenge towards the other celebrities and musicians on the courts, but have directed one towards their pockets.  This post is pretty straight up, so I’m just going to post the majority of the press release directly:

Worried Shoes: Unreleased Daniel Johnston Converse All-Stars

So, I finally created a Flickr account for Monster Fresh.  I have a backlog of concert photography and extra shots that never even make it on to the site.  Since I’m new to the Flickr game, I decided to knock around the site to see exactly what it had to offer and what else I could find in the photo sets of other users.  I typed “Daniel Johnston” into a search and was surprised to find a photo pop up that was titled, “Extremely Rare Daniel Johnston Converse“.  I knew about the, somewhat tentative, plans for the collaboration, but I never knew if I would actually see the final product come to fruition.
