[Scroll to the bottom for recent Updates as they arrive]

Earlier this year, PHISH posted an animated flash map, which sent their fanbase on an apeshit crazy hunt to figure out the location of the 3-Day Halloween Festival.  The location was finally disclosed as the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, CA but, although it is a major detail, it is only one of multiple questions that has been answered, regarding the festivities.  Slowly more and more information is being released.  The official schedule is up, which involves the bands first ever all-acoustic set (donuts and coffee provided).  The main question that’s been racking everyone’s brain, however, is what PHISH will be playing for their Halloween set.  Now another new interactive, flash animation feature is slowly providing that information as well. Phish announces Free Hampton Downloads and Setlist

March 6, 2009 in Music, The Web

If you’re like me, then you live on the West Coast, have created some semblance of a life for yourself since Aug. of 2004, and, when Phish announced that their reunion would again start with a run in Hampton, VA and remain on the Eastern portion of the country you thought, “Fuck this.  I’ll just wait for them to come to me this time“.  If you’re like me, then the idea of Phish performing at Bonnaroo is a bit confusing and you foresee the possible issue’s with trying to cram everyone and their baby’s mama’s cousin, who went to the festival to see The Decemberists or The Yeah Yeah Yeahs but feels that they should “probably see Phish” into a relatively small area, that is not equipped to deal with the crowd’s size or varying attitudes.  If you’re like me, you’re 3 fourths apathetic and 1 fourth not so secretly bitter and envious.  This is why, if you are like me, the band’s latest announcement to give away free downloads of the 3 night Hampton performances is pretty awesome. What Gener was Talking About: Gene Ween Band hits Brooklyn

Heath Ledger killed the Joker (ha-ha). Everyone is concerned with originality and ownership. But c’mon folks, “Why so serious?”. If the ending results of an idea are more crisp and refreshed under new and loving inspiration, then I welcome them. Is this the case for The Gene Ween Band?  What?

The Gene Ween Band is a side project of Aaron Freeman of Ween” says their official MySpace.

Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman, Dave Dreiwitz, Scott Metzger, and Joe Russo is the official band roster.   A dream team of some of indie/jam rock’s finest are the meat in this gumbo, branded with the Boognish seal of “WEEN”.  Does this overshadow the “Gene” & “Band” aspects?  Many will expect the universe.  Many will naysay. Phish Skywrites Summer Tour Announcement (Jay-Z video inside)

January 8, 2009 in Music, With Video

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stL-Z5-Pwb0

Much like they did with their reunion announcement, Phish non-challantly posted the above video featuring skywriting over the live favorite “Punch You in The Eye” this morning, to inform fans of their intentions for their 2009 Summer Tour.  You will notice that there are no West Coast show dates as of yet but, we expect them to hit up this side of the country in the fall.  “Why?” you ask.  Because it makes sense based on their history and track records.  That and because I don’t have it in me to travel the distances that I used to and risk being incarcerated.

Hampton Resuscitated: PHISH Reunion Announced!

October 1, 2008 in Music, With Video

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYu6IDSQFS4

This video just popped up on Phish.com and Youtube today.  Phish has finally announced their reunion to take place at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia on March 6, 7 and 8, 2009.  Obviously, Hampton has been one of the more popular venues for the band to perform at over the years.  If you have never been to a show at Hampton or seen a photo of the venue,  it looks it looks somewhat like an extra-terrestrial space craft, complete with alternating multi-color lights.  If it’s anything like the last time I saw the guys perform out there, you can get a slew of velour hoodlum gear just blocks away from the venue in shopping centers that house a TJ MAX, ROSS, and a MARSHALLS (that’s right all 3)!  Get your budget gangsta on and pop down to the lot.

Of course, this was only a matter of time and more tour dates will be announced shortly.  It appears that there will be a summer tour which will end with another classic festival in the North East.
For now, there is a week long ticket request lottery that closes on the 8th.  You can attempt to purchase some by clicking here.

Tickets open to the rest of the public on the 10th.

Good luck ya’lls!
