The Gaslamp Killer is the assassin and the antidote. His nickname wasnt conceived out of thin air. William Bensussen is entitlements worst nightmare. His DJ sets bludgeon the basic shit, restoring music to a sacred place: shamanistic, visceral, honest, leaving pupils dilated and heads rolling. If youre searching for sound as pure voltage, the GLK is the generator.

If youve caught one of his sets all across the world, you understand. In a cover story, LA Weekly called the Low End Theory co-founder and resident, the most popular great DJ in L.A. wowing both bro-step hordes and avant-garde diggersany song he spins feels remixed to Richter-popping intensity.

Resident Advisor described his shows as the epitome of unhinged energy. Rock, jazz, bass music and funk are just as likely to be aired as hip-hop, as he wigs out with his now trademark dance moves. Maybe you caught the aforementioned dance moves in the Apple commercial that aired during the 2015 Grammys. Or maybe you caught him at any number of the biggest international or US festivals.

Dead C

Located in Seattle, Dead C is the founder/editor, as well as the principal writer and photographer, of Monster Fresh. Creating the site in 2007, he did so with a specific dream in mind. Unfortunately, being a muscle relaxer-fueled fever dream, it's hard to recall all of the details. "I remember that my mom was there, but it wasn't actually her in the dream, it was actually 70s heart throb, Jan Michael Vincent. And everything took place here, in this room... but it wasn't actually here... it was different. The colors were washed out and, for some reason, there was a raccoon kicking it with us and it was wearing a holographic monocle."
