Canada has a good health care system. I’m biased – I am Canadian. Although from viewing Moore’s film I’d have to say France is looking pretty good, too.

Our biggest problem here now is that we’ve got a bunch of Conservative politicians running this country with a minority government who are all lined up to suck George Bush’s dick. When they finish in that lineup they move over to the ‘suck corporate dick’ lineup.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sucking dick if that’s your thing, but I don’t pay taxes to pay these guys’ salaries so they can spend time finding ‘suck buddies’.

Back on track, I’ve liked all of Michael Moore’s films. I always get a huge laugh out of every time some asshole on camera points to the camera and says “is that on” and Michael tells him with much conviction “uh . . . no”.

Very funny.

I approved your comment because it is the best one that I have recieved as of yet.
You sound like someone with money and coverage. That must be great for you. This movie didn’t show me how inept the government was; I’ve learned that through personal experience. Plus, my mother is a nurse who has left jobs because of her own moral beliefs.
“Rambling mess”? Obviously you’re unfamiliar with the concept of my website and you must have missed my old TV program entitled “TANGENT”.

If my articles piss you off so much, my suggestion is for you to keep on reading them. Or, hey, get off your ass and write something yourself.

So, this movie proved to you how inept the government is, and now you want to give them complete control over healthcare? Flawless logic!

The health care system sure isn’t perfect, but that’s what happens when large corporations exist, which, surprise!, is the doing of the government. If you honestly think that handing over control of ANYTHING, especially healthcare, to the government is a good idea, you need your head examined.

First, let’s work on getting you some writing classes. Maybe your next story won’t be a rambling mess.

The infant mortality rate is always one that irks me a bit as it’s misleading. US numbers are hurt by a very broad definition of “live birth”. It’s similar to the way doctors with certain specialties (neurosurgeons) are statistically “worse” than others. The wikipedia page on infant mortality rate has good info in it.

There’s no arguing that health care in this country screws over the most vulnerable citizens, but quality of health care when you can afford it is actually not something one can reasonably complain about. If I’m Bill Gates, I know I’m not going to Canada to get open heart surgery.

I’m hearing good things about this movie, but one of the things that’s always bothered me about Moore is his tendency to take too much creative liberty with facts.

Yeah, I don’t love Moore. He’s alright.
He’s a a little too much of a publicity whore for me to get on board. To the point where I feel like he always exploits the victims in his documentary for some publicity stunt. These people who suffer become sympathy inducing puppets to further Moore’s cause.
And sure it’s always a noble cause, and he makes good points. And I do always end up seeing his movies.
But I’d like a little more depth, and a little less spectacle.

I’m also completely convinced on that theory of how the movie leaked so prevalently. I was just reading about how Moore is stoked about the leak.

Well, if you move to Canada you will at least have healthcare. Michael Moore is a fucking HERO. He has more courage than most and thank god someone is bringing this to the forefront so something can actually be done about it. It’s pathetic the healthcare system we have in this country – embarassing. Hey, I will move to Canada with you. But France looks good, too.

Yeah I always felt a Michael Moore movie was like an Immortal Technique record; don’t talk to me like I’m some house nigga! There are a lot of clueless fucks out there. I’m moving to fucking Canada
